Personal Data Protection and Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice has been prepared by TAGFORUM in accordance with the Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (“KVKK”) for the purpose of informing relevant individuals regarding the processing of their personal data.

Definitions

For the purposes of this Notice:

Personal Data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.

KVKK means the Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data.

TAGFORUM means the non-governmental organization operating at Koşukavak Mahallesi, 4162/2 Sokak, No:5, İzmir / Türkiye.

Data Processor means a natural or legal person who processes personal data on behalf of the Data Controller based on the authority granted by the Data Controller.

Data Controller means a natural or legal person who determines the purposes and means of processing personal data.

Data Controller

Within the scope of the KVKK, personal data shared with TAGFORUM by members, donors, scholarship recipients, interns, suppliers, visitors, cooperation partners, competitors, program participants and similar stakeholders are processed by TAGFORUM in its capacity as the Data Controller.

Purposes of Processing Personal Data

Your personal data are processed within the scope of TAGFORUM’s activities in compliance with the following principles:

• In accordance with the law and principles of good faith

• Accurate and, where necessary, kept up to date

• For specified, explicit and legitimate purposes

• Relevant, limited and proportionate to the purposes for which they are processed

• Retained for the period stipulated in the relevant legislation or required for the purpose of processing

TAGFORUM Activities

TAGFORUM’s areas of activity include, but are not limited to:

• Enhancing the institutionalization, branding, and export capacities of SMEs and entrepreneurs

• Promoting circular economy and upcycling practices

• Converting organic waste into value-added products

• Encouraging industrial symbiosis and sustainable production models

• Developing joint projects with universities, public institutions, and the private sector

• Raising awareness and building capacity in sustainable food, water, and energy sectors

• Supporting social sustainability, human rights, and ethical production principles

Transfer of Personal Data

Your personal data may be transferred, in accordance with Articles 8 and 9 of the KVKK, for the purpose of carrying out TAGFORUM’s activities, to:

• Cooperating institutions and organizations

• Program and project partners

• Legally authorized public institutions and authorities

• Relevant domestic or international parties when necessary

Method and Legal Basis for Collecting Personal Data

Your personal data are collected, processed, and transferred based on the legal grounds specified in Articles 5 and 6 of the KVKK through:

• Membership and application forms

• Contact forms

• E-newsletter subscription forms

• Grant, project, and job application processes

Rights of the Data Subject

Pursuant to Article 11 of the KVKK, data subjects have the right to:

• Learn whether their personal data are being processed

• Request information if their personal data have been processed

• Learn the purpose of processing and whether data are used in accordance with such purpose

• Know the third parties to whom personal data are transferred

• Request correction of incomplete or inaccurate data

• Request deletion or destruction of personal data

• Object to unfavorable results arising from automated processing systems

• Request compensation for damages arising from unlawful processing

Requests regarding these rights may be submitted in writing to TAGFORUM via its official contact address. Applications will be concluded free of charge within 30 (thirty) days at the latest.
